CRISPY VADA|GARELU|MEDU VADA recipe is mostly a south Indian recipe is used for breakfast and snacks. Garelu looks like a round disk in shape which are deep fry in oil or ghee. mostly liked by all age groups people.

In my home Garelu is so special we done every happy moments, festivals, functions etc this recipe is must done in home and also my mom’s recipe.
I learned this recipe from my mom at beginning state my cooking , a little afraid while doing Garelu because it must cook with deep frying oil. In south Indian we can easily get this recipe in hotels or in street foods.

Keep the vada in a tight lid and store in a container it will be crispy for long time. Other wise after 2 to 3 hours it will be soft to eat

The fresh Black gram urad beans absorb more oil while compared to old black gram. Or else we can add flour on it to get crispy and less absorb oil.
3) Vada is good for health?
Daily consuming vada is may bad to your health because vada is made with deep frying oil it contains cholesterol.

Vada can be freeze in a tight lid and store in a container 2 to 3 days. while eating take them a cook it for a while and have it.

Let’s look at its desired steps:
Step 1: Take a black gram urad beans soak them for 5 hours.

Step 2: After 5 hours remove all black gram and clean them in a fresh running
water.

Step 3: Grind them urad beans in a fine paste mix all the
chopped onions, chills ,ginger add salt mix them very well

Step 4: Take a one bowl placed inverted and place the clean wet cloth and take same urad bean paste with a hand full place them in a cloth center in a disc shape.

Step 5: place a hole in a middle of urad bean paste with the
help of finger.

Step 6: Take a kadayi add oil /ghee heat them in a medium-low flame , check the oil while it heat or not by using pinch of urad bean paste.

Step 7: add the garelu on the oil. fry them in a medium –low
flame until we get the light gold brown color.

Step 8: at last our dish is ready. Take them in a plate serve with a pickle .enjoy the each piece of vada.

Procedure:
