                            Curd rice also called as yogurt rice by seeing the title all you know that it is simply recipe mixing curd in rice if you think like that definitely you made a mistake Mostly in Indian curd rice also called as daddojanam or thayir saddam without curd rice the meal is incomplete in India.

                                Making curd rice is slightly different in restaurant so today in this blog we can also happily make a healthy and very quick recipe within 15 min easily understand by step by step procedures and easily make it. Curd rice is one of the most quick recipe as travel food in India, even I took this rice for travel time packing in box for road or train for keep long hours journey.

                         Mostly curd rice is make over by left over rice but here I am using fresh rice with a fresh curd it can be eaten with pickle, onions, podi, Chicken. South Indian curd rice is a comfort food with having a high nutritious values mixing of great aroma ingredients like rice, curd, pomegranates, cashew nuts and tempering spices , In India we can easily available for lunch, breakfast, dinner.

                      Curd rice also some festival time like goodness puja in every home by normal home style like mixing fresh cooked rice with yogurt followed by onions ,salt  as a prasadam in India.

                  We can happily serve with pickle, chicken, podi, onions, green chili, raw veggies and fruits.

BENEFITS OF CURD RICE:

Curd rice have a rich in proteins, calories to maintain a good health.

It helps to attack the infections provided cells and build the immunity

Yogurt rice have a less carbohydrates and useful for weight loss section

Curd rice is useful for pregnant women to get a high proteins.

Yogurt helps to cools down the body and stay healthy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?

1)    Can curd rice is eaten at night?

If you have a digestion problem, constipation, sleeping issue avoid yogurt eating at night.

2)    Does curd rice makes you sleepy?

Curd rice have a good satisfaction of tryptophan and amino acids on it so if you excess of curd rice it also makes you feel sleepy.

3)    What are side effects of curd rice?

Milk and curd are two amino acids so if you mix them at a same time then it may cause a gastric problem, diarrhea.

4)    Can curd increase weight?

No ,due to some researcher in US tells that curd have a rich factor of fat burner to reduce the weight, so if you are looking for weight loss then this recipe helps you with high quantities and proteins.

DERIVED INGRENDITS:

1 cup of Rice

Fresh yogurt

Pressure Cooker

Salt (as per needed)

¾ of fresh cream

2 tsp Ghee

6 Cashew nuts

Tempering nuts

Handful of Curry leaves

1 tsp Ginger

1tsp Green chili

Handful of Coriander stems

1 cup of Pomegranates

DETAILED STEPS:

Cooking rice:

STEP 1: At a beginning take a pressure cooker or bowl add 1 cup of rice on it. wash the rice twice usually soak the rice about 30 min then soaking of rice may double the quantity and quickly cook.

Step 2: Add 1 glass of water and salt as per needed on it.

Step 3: later add ½ cup of milk on it gives a more taste to the rice.

Step 4: I directly cooked in pressure cooker for 3 vessels. if you cooked in bowl water should dry in rice you have a some water left in rice with the help of spoon mash it completely rice should be nicely soft cooked.

Step 5:  After 3 vessels in cooker mash the rice it very well with help of spoon or hand blender.

 Step 6:Add finely chopped green chili, pomegranate, ginger and coriander stems on it keep aside for 20 min later.

Preparing curd rice:

Step 7: Add 1 cup of fresh yogurt on to the rice.

Step 8: My secret ingredients Add ¾ of fresh cream on it will gives more taste to rice mix it well in rice.

Tempering spices:

Step 9: Take a bowl and add a 2 spoons of ghee on it.

Step 10:Add cashew nuts on the ghee aroma spends entire home quickly.

Step 11: Pour all tempering species like (urad chal, half-broken red chili, curry leaves, chana dal) salute them till it turns in light-golden color.

Step 12: Pour all nicely cooked tempering species on curd rice mix it very well if it needed add salt on it.

Step 13: serve yogurt rice in a bowl with best combination of pomegranates, pickle, podi, chicken.

BEST FOR MORE RESULTS:

  1. We can add white rice or brown rice but soaked the rice for 30 min before using the rice.
  2. We can also use millets like oats, dal instead of rice on it.
  3. If you are not interested for adding ghee on curd then we can also add oil after cooked tempering species mesh them with the help of sieve –net mesh and pour the plain species on it.
  4. If you avoid species on it we can avoid chili, ginger on it instead on that we can add roughly chopped onions on the rice.
