Idly looks like soft and fluffy white in color , looks like round/disc in shape and also called as a savoury rice cake.  Idly can be discovered in the 12 century. Idly recipe can easy make it with the help of 3 ingredients.

                              Today in this blog I shared the easily 2 methods for 1) babies /aged persons 2)normal person  with the help of Black gram urad beans and idly rava. Even the more than 6 months babies can happy have this recipe. In south Indian we can easily get this recipe in hotels or in street foods. Idly can be served with a ground nut, coconut , chilli ,tomato chutney or with a idly sambar.

                              Rice is grind very soft texture then it’s turned into idly rava. Idly is very healthy recipe and easily digest for all group peoples. In sometimes the unhealthy people take only idly as food to get back their health that much importance idly can placed in south India.

Method 1( for Babies/Aged persons)

How to make Idly  for babies:

                                      Idly have a fiber nutrients more than 6 months babies , Mostly 70+ aged persons they unable to eat the food because of loosing teeth then we can a happy make can happy have it. Firstly for babies feed them 1 idly later on increase the quantity .Take a 2 idly’s cut them in a small pieces with the help of spoon  add boiled milk on it .grind them in a fine paste. serve them in a glass and feed the babies and aged persons.

Method 2(Normal persons)

Let’s look at its desired ingredients:

Idly rava

Salt (as per taste)

Ghee/oil

Let’s look at its desired steps:

Step 1: Take a black gram urad beans and idly rava soak them for 5 hours.

Step 2: After 5 hours remove all black gram and clean them in a fresh running water.

Step 3: Grind them urad beans in a fine paste.

Step 4:Add idly rava on the urad dal paste mix it well. Ferment the paste for whole night to get a good taste. after fermentation the batter must be double and slightly yellow in color, fluffy .add salt mix them very well.

Step 5: If needed add a little water to get a thick consistency. Bring a idly steamer grease the plates with oil /ghee

Step 6: Pour the idly batter in the molds. The molds cover with help of the lid.

Step 7: Stand the molds cover with help of the lid of the idly steamer.

Step 8: Add glass of water on idly steamer stand the molds cover with help of the lid. Make sure add less water otherwise water can easily spend on molds.

Step 9: while cooking the steam aroma can easily spread in home with a good aroma.  Cool them for 5 min with the help of spoon remove the idly and Serve the idly in a plate.

Procedure:

Prepare black gram urad beans paste :

                                Take a black gram urad beans dal, idly rava soak them for 5 hours. After 5 hours remove all  black gram and clean them in a fresh running water. Grind them urad beans in a fine paste. Take them in a bowl pour idly rava , ferment the paste for whole night to get a good taste. After fermentation the batter must be double and slightly yellow in color, fluffy . Add salt mix them very well.

Cooking:

                                 If needed add a little water to get a thick consistency. Bring a idly steamer grease the plates with oil /ghee .Pour the idly batter in a molds. Add glass of water on idly steamer stand the molds cover with help of the lid. Make sure add less water otherwise water can easily spend on molds.

                                 While cooking the steam aroma can easily spread in home with a good aroma. Cool them for 5min with the help of spoon remove the idly and Serve the idly in a plate.

Best for more results:

Use hot box for storing idly for long time, hot idly makes a good taste.

Fermentation process is more important ferment in whole night is best to get a double consistency and taste.

Not more than a night don’t ferment it may leads to savoury taste is not good for health.

Make sure add less water on idly streamer otherwise water can easily spend on idly.

We can use both black  gram urad dal or plan urad dal as per your choice.
